By Dora Reed

You can download all flash files all models of Nokia cell phones. Whether you have a DCT4, BB5, or other type of Nokia, you can find the latest version firmware for these model groups as a compressed rar file. The flash files for nokia are available as mcu, ppm and cnt files and you can select from many different languages, including English, Urdu and Hindi.

Don't waste unnecessary time getting your download. Find the latest versions of firmware for your exact model, ready to download. All software has undergone testing to make sure it works before you download it and use it to upgrade your phone. Find the exact file for phones in any model group, such as BB5, DCT4, DCT3 and WD2.

In the download you will find files of type ppm, mcu and cnt which are needed to properly upgrade your phone's firmware. The mcu file is the core file for setup, and usually ends in 'mcusw'. The ppm file is the language file and has a letter at the end. The cnt file is a package of contents for various accessories including games, logos and wallpapers, and may contain 'image', 'ucp' or 'nai' in the filename.

When selecting files for upgrading your phone's firmware, it is much easier to use the ini file settings. This way, all the files needed to flash are located automatically. Most of the firmware downloads for Nokia models are small, so you won't be using up much of your bandwidth, nor will you be waiting more than two or three minutes.

One method you can use to flash your cell phone is with a flasher box. You can get many different types; UFS Micro Box (HWK), ATF, JAF or Universal are some common ones. Alternatively, you can update the firmware in your phone via Nokia's Phoenix Software Service tool. There are many reasons why you might need to flash your phone; most importantly, it may solve some serious problems, for example booting issues, hanging, shut down errors, etc.

If you ever need to revert your phone back to its default configuration, press the hard reset. Before doing this, however, make sure you absolutely want to do this because all your information and applications will be lost. If this occurs, you will then need to re-enter all the deleted data, including all your address book contacts and phone numbers.

Be sure to back up all the data in your phone before flashing the firmware, so if you don't want your contacts, images, ring tones, music, or any other files deleted then make sure you save them first. It's important with BB5 phones not to flash with an older version of the firmware. In most cases, it is better to upgrade your cell phone with the same version or a later version of firmware, or you may encounter problems.
